Has anyone visited any of them? So far I've been to the one in California and the one in Florida. I might go to the New york one this weekend.

I just was at one in Williamsburg, VA. I was at one in St. Augustine, Florida too.

My friend's niece made her Prom dress out of Skittles candy bar wrappers, and last year for New Year's she made a dress out of potato chip bags-it was so cool. I told her she should contact Ripley's because you can not believe that she made clothing out of this stuff.

I've seen the one on the Atlantic City boardwalk but haven't gone in.

I've been to the one in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It's really cool.

The one in NYC is just wicked. I was in Madame Tussauds and it was ok, then I spotted Ripleys next door and almost didn't bother but I went in anyways.

The black hole is so cool. I was freaked out by it, yule love it..

Im actually torn between WHICH to go to, RIPLEYS or TUSSAUDS! My daughters birthday is this weekend and she seems to be wanting to do TUSSAUDS (although she went there on a field trip last year, whereas RIPLEYS we havent seen yet. the one thing that has me wanting to go to TUSSAUDS though is they have a Chamber Of Horrors!)

JACK, do you LIVE in New York or were you on a trip?

Posted by Mr. Jack Burton (Member # 4673) on :

Just there on a trip honey. I'm in Ireland!!

I can tell you right now, go to Ripleys!!
Waaaaayyyyyy better, and I'm a horror fan and was let down by chamber of horrors in Tussauds [Frown]

Hey, I'm 1/4 Irish myself. I just can't stand any dark beer. It tastes nasty to me. I'll drink it though, if that's all that is available. After all....it is beer!

Been to the one in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I'm not even sure if it's still open now though. It had several simulators you could ride which were all cool, an aquarium, and things to look at.

P.S. Damn that's a huge beer. I'd like to have one about that size.....

Okay, I pretty much drink ANYTHING, but given the chance I will drink stuff like BUDWEISER or COORS. Shocking, right? I wasnt born in Ireland and have never even BEEN there so maybe thats why. I would rather drink the weak **** for 8 hours than have the heavy duty stuff and pass out after 3 drinks!

I'm with you mama. Guiness is nasty! to me that is. Muffy, Jack, Jdoc, J2ME....more for you! [Smile]

Has anyone ever brewed their own beer? I bought my husband a kit one Christmas, he and my daughter made it and I drank about 90% of it!

If I can find the name of the kit I will tell you guys.

I THINK this might be the company, cant recall (hic)

www.mrbeer.com

I recommend this as a gift idea. Was it The Best Beer I Ever Had? Of course not! But it was a fun little project (making you WORK for your beer).

This is also a cute idea : www.microbeerclub.com

Its like a Beer Of The Month Club. I dont think this is the same one we used but we did that one year, gave our friends Beer Of the Months and ourselves the Wine Of The Month (they send two bottles at a time).

That is too funny how you changed the thread title....museum/brew your own beer. Love it!

Never have yet, BTW.

I dont know how we went from RIPLEYS to Guiness to Brew Your Own Beer...but we did!

Posted by jdocster (Member # 5752) on :

I used to brew beer with my neighbor, but, he moved away... [Frown] We brewed all kinds of stuff. Ales, lagers, English, German, Mexican. All good to me... [Smile]

BTW, Guinness is "not" stronger than Budweiser. In fact, it's got a lower alcohol content. The thing about stout beer is, it's heavy and has less carbonation. Because of this, you feel "full" a lot sooner than you do with lighter beers...

Brewery/Brand Beer Alcohol %

Budweiser (U.S) Budweiser 5.0
Guinness Guinness Draught 4.0
