I got a few things yesterday....it was weird...yesterday I saw commercials for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. It makes you confused as to what holiday your suppose to be doing. I can't believe that it is the end of October already...we just put our outdoor table and chairs away ...on Sunday...because it is getting cold here, and they said it could snow tomorrow....but I still feel like it should be September. Time just flies by.
I plan stuff early, but I feel like I am always going to run out of time to do everything.

OK, first off I'm a guy, and shopping(good shopping) doesn't usually correlat with that but the past year I have begun compiling stuff I think people in my life would life. So it's a pile of presents that could be used for birthdays or X-mas. Seems like a fool proof plan.

I shop year round. If I am out and see something for someone I grab it. I have a closet in one of my guest rooms devoted to hidden presents. Only issue, I typically forgot about buy people stuff so around this time of the year I have to empty it out and take inventory almost.

We have started, we've ordered most of the gifts and are just waiting for them to arrive.

I'm a guy so I usually start December 23 and just go the all gift card route.

Nope, haven't even thought about it. I love to shop, but I'm not an early Christmas shopper. Now, I'm not a last minute shopper, either...I usually start the day after Thanksgiving.
And sometimes gift cards are the best things to get...that way everyone gets what they want.

Not at all. Maybe the week before Thanksgiving I'll start stepping into high gear, but unlike retailers I'm willing to wait. This year, though, I may get an early jump on Christmas cards (and by extension stamps); having racked up a large number of former classmates's wherabouts after joining Facebook back in January, I figured I might as well mail out to as many as I can reach who want cards.

I ordered 3 new Christmas Bedding sets- comforters and curtains- for 3 of my guest rooms.
I bought a 7foot artifical tree at a flea market for $3.00. I put up about 4 or 5 Christmas trees.
It is alot of work.

Same as Motley. I’m a typical last minute X-Mas shopper.

Yup, make the mad dash 2 days before...
Hey, don't forget about the "black friday" sales....

I went Black Friday shopping-one time- a few years ago...and I'd never do that again. It was awful.

I love Christmas as much as the next guy or gal, but it's getting outta hand!! I mean let us enjoy the Halloween spirit first. It's so weird going into a store and seeing Santa next to scream masks.. Kinda creepy actually!! But it does make me think of The Nightmare Before Christmas, so maybe it's not all bad!!!

You couldn't pay me enough to go Black Friday shopping. I'd rather pay more later on. What gets me are these people who go year after year and complain like they didn't expect it to be that bad.....

Christmas what?!? I'm totally astonished that there are people on this planet who actually DO what I TRY to do each year... I always try to get stuff early, but actally end up having a nervous breakdown on December 22.
Parents are really hard to shop for, don't you think? They always get whatever they want for themselves anyway... But I absolutlely love the season leading up to Christmas, with the Christmas Markets in every town, having mulled wine in the cold, buying some stuff for Christmas decoration, baking Christmas cookies with friends, listening to Christmas songs by Dean Martin... or "Last Christmas" ..... love it love it love it!

LOL, Motley. I go Black Friday shopping nearly every year, but I never b*tch about crowds. I just know which stores to stay away from until after noon (can we say Walmart?)

Now I do all my shopping online. Why fight with other customers??? My holiday shopping has been stress-free for the past 5 years!

One of my friends says "You have to pay shipping!" - but really - I'm NOT paying for gas, right? So I break even!

I am also a 100%, online, all the time, shopper. Can't stand going shopping in stores and navigating the "herds". Plus, the prices online save me big bucks.

I always wait too long to do my shopping. I would hate to break tradition this year and start early.

I'm starting tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to get it finished before the real crowds come out *crosses fingers*
