My partner has been going through hell lately with what the doctors aren't sure is Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I've been researching Celiac disease which has a lot of similar symptoms, but nothing we try seems to work. The poor guy is on morpheine tablets just to control the pain.
Does anyone have any experience with this? The more I become aware of it, the more people I know tell me that they have a friend or relative who also suffers from it.

Celiac Disease is where your body does not digest wheat glutton. You have to go on a special diet for it. But, if they make a firm diagnoses on him , and that's what it is...they will get him on a special diet for it.
I had my gall bladder out, about 12 years ago, and ever since then I have a hard digesting certain things...I had horrible pain with my gall bladder...everyone in my family...my mom, my grandma- all had their gall bladder out.
The other thing I developed was Fibromyalgia...and it gave me horrible stomach aches too. Kidney stones will too. Some things need major help, so if your friend doesn't like his doctor...get a different one. I had a pain so bad before that even morphine didn't help take it away. Sometimes gas causes severe pain in your stomach, but you can take stuff to break that up.
But...make sure you get a good doctor, and that they know for sure what they are treating...and then once you get a clear diagnosis...you can find information all over the internet for anything.
Good Luck Stitch.

I had a friend who was diagnosed with Celiac disease. She ate a gluten free diet for about 7 years before she found out she was misdiagnosed.
