I can't believe when I go in to the stores that alot of places are decorated for fall already. Doesn't it seem even earlier than usual? I love Halloween....but when they put Halloween candy out 2 months ahead of time...isn't that a bit much? I think they should wait until September.
I just got a catalog and I found in it that they made a Halloween Yahtzee game and a Boo-opoly game....I have to get those.
I was just now looking up something on you tube...and I saw where they had done a Halloween-25 years of Terror dvd...I have never seen it...and now-this year is the 30th anniversary of the movie....I love watching the old scary movies when it starts to get cold out....
but I am definately not ready for summer to be over yet....it barely feels like it got started...
Does anyone else feel like fall is coming up way too fast??

Summer always flys by. The older you get, the faster is goes. I love summer for the outdoor activities and I wish it were longer. However, fall is my favorite season. The scenery, the smell, the nip in the air, Halloween. Love it.

Same here, but i watch soccer. English Premier League starts tomorrow and Canal + channel shows 8 games/week.
And what about ice hockey... Iīm waiting for the Finnish league(2 games/week) to start and NHL(3-5 games/week) of course.
ISIS, watch that Halloween. Itīs about time

I have seen the original "Halloween" a million times, I just have never seen the 25th anniversary special they did, and wondered if anyone else had.

summer always makes me happy and was my favorite season as a kid, but being an adult now i dont get to enjoy it like i once did. that's why i think i'm more of a fall person now, along with the fact that football and hockey start up too.
but i've got two young kids and i think i will start to enjoy summer again once they get a little older.

This summer flew by. I dont know hw it is with you guys but I really think the kids here got cheated: They used to get 3 months off and now they get like 2! It seems like everyones in a rush to get them back in school and MAKE IT FALL, when the fact is my pool will be up until September 27th! It's still gonna be hot here for another month!
I used to love summer best as a kid but now that im old and fat I cant handle the heat. I much more prefer Spring and Fall.
I used to reallllly be into Halloween. Last year I didnt dress up , and that was the First Time Ever. I remember a few years back I was CARRIE and then the next year I was Regan from THE EXORCIST. My daughters friends got freaked out by it and now she says I embaress her when I dress up on Halloween, so there goes an end to that era! Now I just plop devil horns or bunny eras on and thats my "costume".
My best friend started Christmas shopping 2 weeks ago! People used to make fun of me cuz I would do my Christmas shopping in October. He has me beat!

Hey, I always start in September.

Oh yeah it's coming up fast. I am in total denial that school starts back next week for us, and the kids the week after. The air has that fall feeling as well. Belk completely skipped Halloween and went right for Thanskgiving...they already have these little Pilgrims and Native Americans mixed in with the back-to-college crap.
On another point, I have to agree with Motley...fall means football!! Dare I hope my teams have good seasons this year? Dare I hope the Patriots don't win a single game??

My friend owns a Christmas shop...and it has been dead for her for weeks...she can hardly wait until things start to pick up...we are going to cater Christmas parties there...I can't wait for that. I just feel like I just did all that stuff from last year, and it doesn't feel like a whole year went by. I have to go to the orthodontist every months over my braces...and it's a 3 hour drive (round trip) for me to get there every time...so I always thought that going once a month would be no problem, but it feels like I am there almost instantly...and I know a whole month passes in between.
To me....I can not believe how fast a week goes by. I am still in shock that today is Friday....I have no clue where time goes. I never feel like I ever accomplish anything anymore.
I LOVE fall it is my favorite season....I have to start decorating in the middle of September, and I decorate for Halloween the last week of September....because it takes me over a week-of non stop working at it...to get it done...and then I want to be able to have it up long enough to enjoy it. At the end of Halloween every year...I start thinking of what I am going to do for the next year.
This year I am doing a Halloween Carnival...I am going to do a really pretty/glamourous type of Halloween....not as creepy and scary as I usually do it.
My friend is a middle school principal and he just wrote me an email and said ...where did the summer go?
It is sad that they do send kids back to school earlier and earlier...I heard at one time...they thought of eliminating summer vacations....I think that would be horrible...everyone needs a break and time to relax and swim and play and have fun.
I remember how summers lasted forever, and we made lemonade stands along the road, and we ate freeze pops all day long, or popsicles, and we played outside, and camped out all night long...and it was never ending.

I definitely don't miss having braces. I had them for three years and had to go to the orthodontist once a month or sometimes more depending on if a wire broke. That being said there's a couple of schools close to me that go year round but they get weeks at a time off. They are also discusssing the possibility of a 4 day school week here which I'd love if I was still in school. The kids would have to come in a bit earlier and stay a bit later though....

My summer this year was pretty much wasted due to my back surgery. My activities have been very limited so I spent way too much inside. Right now the way things are going my fall might be more of the same as I'm nowhere near being able to return to work. Knowing my luck I'll start feeling normal again when it's 20 below outside.

Our school district actually discussed the 4 days a week thing, but eventually decided against it. I wouldn't mind 4 days, though I don't think I'd like year-round school, even though there are supposed to be, like, three week breaks between.

What do you teach, if you don't mind me asking? Just curious.

I am a "resource" teacher, and it basically means that ya teach whatever the principal wants you to. Last year I taught 4th and 5th math, K-5 writing and Pre-k-5 PE. This year I know I'll have PE, but I don'tknow what else yet.

That's cool...You get to mix it up so you won't get bored doing the same thing all the time. Thanks for sharing.

Personally, living in Dallas, I'm glad it's just about over. 100+ is not nice. 80-90 is splendid.
I love the mild winters, though.
Spring and fall here are great.... nice and mild with a few "hot" days thrown in and a few "chillier" days mixed in as well. The fall colors are the best.

the fall is lovely, getting closer to winter is better. the winters here aren't that cold, i love it. i love halloween & thanksgiving time. i look forward to this every year!

It was raining here all the time so itīs like there was no summer at all.
I would love to have a 100+ degree heat a week or two
