Today marks a major milestone for game show fans, for Plinko made its grand debut on 1/3/83. While techincally it has never been "won" per se (officially a win would be a contestant winning the highest total; for most fans, though, getting at least one Plinko chip in the highest amount is good enough for a win), it still remains the epitomy of daytime grandeur, and has always been my favorite pricing game to boot. Today also marks for genre fans the silver anniversaries of the premieres of Jim Perry's version of $ale of the Century (also pretty high on my list of favorite shows), Betty White's Just Men!, and Peter Tomarken's Hit Man (the latter 2 lasted only a couple of months, but earned White an Emmy for Best Host and paved the way for Tomarken to gain immortality on Press Your Luck).
