I watched this a few years back and as I recall, it was pretty good! I'm just about to purchase the blu-ray...
Did anyone else think it had an 80's ghost story vibe to it?? I thought it was creepy!!
Anyone here like it?

Yes i saw this film too a few years back when it came out and i thought that dummy was the creepiest part of the movie. The cover art of Dead Silence is what really drew me in..
Here's a couple of other "Dummy" movies that are creepy too

I totally agree that the original cover art is what caught my eye...looked very 80's...
I want to buy the blu-ray but they changed the cover...ugh...now it looks like it's trying to be Saw!! The new artwork is actually making me not want to buy it for that reason alone!!
Why do studios constantly do this?? I know they're trying to keep it fresh but part of loving a movie I think is the nostalgia factor for the way you remember it in it's original presentation.

I own this movie on DVD. But I don't think I'm a fan of it enough to upgrade to Blu-Ray. Though it is slightly above par compared to other horror movies that came out around this time. I just don't think a Blu-Ray upgrade is needed for this one if you already own the DVD.
I would have to say my favorite thing about this movie is Judith Roberts as Mary Shaw. Very high marks on the creepy meter.

They did a cover change to the gate when they released it recently, it looks like they tried to modernize it.

And it doesn't hurt that Donnie Wahlberg is in it!
