That brings back memories. It is a cool commercial. Too bad the game flopped big time. They rushed production on that game to get it out for the Christmas sales and it stunk. They buried thousands of copies of that game in a landfill because it was so bad.

Yeah...but how lame was Combat, and everyone love it.
I actually liked the E.T. game. My favorite Atari game was Pitfall.
I loved Space Invaders and Qbert.

I'm not saying that I thought it stunk, but the reviews and sales are what drove it to it's fate. It was a so-so game for me. The others you mentioned were good games.

My son was watching the you tube clip, and he was saying...wow that is lame...so I actually wasn't meaning that you thought it stunk...I was thinking it was cool, but nobody else was thinking that it was. I remember I got it for Christmas when I was in the 8th grade.

Cool commercial...I hadn't seen that one before. I have an old Atari and 30 or so games. I have ET, but when I try to play it...I haven't a clue what to do. * For the record...I only "dig dug" my Atari out about once a year!

My friend says the worst ever ATARI game was the SUMRFS one.
I loved ATARI. Yeah PITFALL was so cool!

the best atari game was adventure, since me and my friends were big into dungeons and dragons.
a few years ago i bought the atari joystick that had like 10 old 2600 games in it and hooks directly into your tv, one of those games being adventure, and as nostalgic as i like to get, those games were terrible.
i can't find a video for it, but one of my favorite christmas commercials featured this young actor named corey feldman for mcdonalds where he leaves the gift certificate for santa.

Never had an Atari 2600. We sure did have an Intellevision! The only game I remember playing was Dracula and I think it was B-17 Bomber or something like that.

my best friend had the atari system but we had intellivison, which was 100x better than atari. our favorite game was advanced dungeons and dragons, but all the sports games were fun(basketball, football, baseball, tennis). other great games we had were snafu, skiing, astrosmash, horse racing, microsurgeon, night stalker, pinball, space armada, tron, and zaxxon.
then another one of my friends got colecovision which looked better then intellivision.

I remember colecovision. My dad was addicted to it!
After that, we didn't get anything until the NES. I remember seeing The Wizard and my brothers were going crazy in the end over Super Mario Bro's 3.

that commercial was awesome. i remember my friend had donkey kong and we couldn't believe that it looked exactly like the video game.

I know! So sad when my dad sold it and all the games in a garage sale for 5 bucks.

I dug out my old Atari last year and hooked it up. I started playing my games and was like....wow, I used to like these games? How far we have come. I ended up selling them on ebay. I agree with you xchazx, the nostalgia factor wasn't nearly enough for me to ever want to play these games again!
