See I really think that commercials heavily impacted children in the 80s.

I was posting about The Green Giant and Sprout.

Then I was looking at the 80s commercials:

There's the Quik rabbit, The Trix Rabbit, Tony the Tiger, all the McDonalds characters-Grimace, The Hamburgular, and the Kool-Aid guy, there was
Toucan Sam, Super Sugar Bear...Count Chocula, BooBerry:

What commercials are out today that aren't promoting...Beer, Insurance, Cell Phones, and Medication

Can't people see what's happening to us?

Yep, the best of them did teach me the essentials of quick-timed humor, particularly the classic Energizer bunny ads where he interrupts fake commercials (my vote for best one being the one for "Alarm soap" where he appears in the shower wearing a raincoat; priceless look of sheer horror at the intrusion by the actor), numerous beer ads (particularly the Bud Light spots where some ignorant patron would make the mistake of simply asking for a "light" rather than the specific Bud Light and gets what he wishes for when whatever's in front of him spontaneously combusts) and of course the myriad of cereals, with probably Super Golden Crisp and Fruity Pebbles leading the way ("You're time's up, Sugar Bear; hand over that sweet crispy wheat!" "Time for a vitamin packed punch." (spins sharks over his head like a helicopter) "Last flight to the coast. Thanks for the lift, boys.") ("I'm the Master Rapper and I'm here to say/I love Fruity Pebbles in a major way. The Bedrock yellow, orange, purple, lime, and red, but to get the fruity taste, I've got to trick Fred." "To get the fruity taste, he's got to...TRICK FRED!!!??? BARNEY, MY PEBBLES!!!" "Guess that's a rap."). Oh yes, glory days for advertising for sure.

I had Boo Berry cereal in my cabinet, and after watching the commercial it made me want some, LOL. I'd forgotten about Smurf pasta.

Speaking of commercials…
Does anyone remember these TV-spots starring Walter Gibson's "Sure Thing" Nicolette Sheridan? Or were they just aired in Europe?

I loved the Martini commercials back in the day. This was my favourite… so 80’s *sigh* :

A few British advertisements:

Commodore 64

ZX Sinclair Spectrum +2

Commodore Amiga 500 (Or GOD as I use to call it.. [Big Grin] )

This was a great time to be a 'Bedroom Programmer'. I have great memories of spending stupid amounts of time in front of a TV screen or monitor writing code.

I used to get more pleasure out of trying to write my own games than actually playing them.

Anybody here have a similar childhood? I can't be the only dork here.. [Frown] [Big Grin] [Frown]

These must have been Europe only commercials. I don't recognize any of them. Too bad...
