I recently got this 1987 Bruce Willis album "The Return of Bruno" and really liked it. I remember seeing the video tune "Respect Yourself" back in the day but didnīt like it back then.
I also bought his ī89 cd "If It Doesnīt Kill You, It Just Makes You Stronger" but more about that later.
I have few other albums too but what about you guys, any favorites?

Listened the second Bruce Willis album which was released in ī89. Itīs less poppy but somewhere deep, deep inside of me is the blues man who likes this stuff.
Itīs 50/50 with classics and new stuff and i have to say that once again BW and his partners have created groovy and fun tunes. Some cool lyrics here too written by Bruce himself.
Bruce's version of 'Under the Boardwalk' from his first album was a massive hit over here - it got to #2! I remember it being something of a fluke mega hit that just seemed to catch a brief mood of nostalgia (songs like 'Stand By Me' by Ben E. King and 'Reet Petite' by Jackie Wilson had reached #1 in the previous 12 months, and it felt like the charts needed at least one R&B classic in the top 10 at the time, and Bruce kinda came out when there was a gap).

I remember liking a few songs from Don Johnson's mid 80's vanity album, but that was probably more because I was a kid and I loved Miami Vice.
But I have always been a fan of Eddie Murphy's "Party all the time".... and not in an ironic, wink wink- nudge nudge way. I genuinly love the tune. Yes, the video makes it more cheesy than it has to be with Rick James and Eddie's entourage wigging out in the control room (borrowed to fun effect in Boogie Nights) but I still say it's a solid 80's synth track and Murphy is not a bad singer.... not great either.

I think the music video to Don Johnson's "Heartbeat" is one of the funniest of all time. Like the album, it definitely was a vanity project. It's pretty hilarious--"serious" plot, big budget, Johnson squatting and emoting during the on-stage concert sequences like he's trying to pass a kidney stone, the back-up girls ridiculously crossing behind him... It has just about everything bad that you can imagine in an 80s music video. As I recall, MTV had a day when they destroyed all the videos that they would never ever run again. "Heartbeat" was on the list.

You know, iīm a sucker for 80s music videos and i love that "all in" style they have, so much more to see and enjoy than the shoegazing vids the 90s brought.
Iīm also a big Don Johnson fan and like both albums he did (Heartbeat and Let It Roll). Lots of good tunes.
