An impressive assemblage of songs, Paul.

I've even bought myself a "Frankie Says Relax" t-shirt for the gig. Gotta do things right...

I know there may be some sort of stigma attached for wearing that t-shirt but for some reason I have always wanted one.

I am still trying to get a band going but I feel that I am not quite good enough yet. Getting there though.

Good luck with the gig. Not many bands these days would put a set list like that together. Great to see [Smile]

But.. no Talking Heads songs.. ?? [Confused]

Posted by P_a_u_l (Member # 1022) on :

You can only play Talking Head songs once in a lifetime....

And only if your playing in a shotgun shack!

You guys are on the road to nowhere... Same as it ever was. [Razz]

Wow, didn't know you were a musician Paul! Get some Modern English I melt with you and some Echo and the Bunnymen and the set will get more bodacious! Who is doing the singing?

Paul .. love the setlist! [Cool]

How's it coming along learning the tunes?

If you get a chance .. record a few for us and post them on here!

"Modern Love" would be a blast to hear played live in my opinion.

As a huge "Valley Girl" fan, I'm with Riptide on his suggestions too.

The gig was last Saturday. You can read about it on my blog:

Great blog.. though I'm a bit surprised that considering your love for the 80's that you haven't incorporated more tunes from the decade in your setlist over the years. I understand the lack of a flock of seagulls keyboard player makes it tricky though. [Wink]

Funny you should mention A Flock Of Seagulls, Valley. Our sound engineer (yes - we have our own sound engineer!) used to work at Island Records and aside from working with Bob Marley, Genesis, Yes, etc., he worked with the Seagull boys!

Wow, you're lucky as to have that guy on board.

Tell me about it. He covers the time between the start of the gig and the point where the audience has drunk so much that we sound good. We call it "The Gap Of Dave"

Get some Iron Maiden in the mix!
