Im listening to an 80s CD I burned and this song is on it. Is this the only hit she had? It makes you wonder WHY,as she apparenttly COULD sing!

Hey mama...1989...so just under the wire. Black Velvet certainly her biggest hit....she had a couple more releases that were OK....."Lover Of Mine" was a nice ballad...."Love Is"..."Sonny Say You Will"....ummmm....that might be about it. A Canadian girl like me...I mean...I'm not a girl....but am Canadian ehhhh....

I believe the song was off an album that was released in 1989 but the single wasn't released until 1990.

I recollect Black Velvet very well. And also I can recall Love Is. I have heard that Allanah Myles was a Canadian but she had to go to the United States of America for a record contract as she couldn't get one in Canada.
