I heard "Kiss them for me" with my wife the other day and I remembered when I was young and they were up for awards for that song on the VMA's. I was wondering if they were worth getting an album of. On 102.7 the other night they had a "Women of Rock" hour. They had some good Pretenders stuff on too. I heard it then.

I haven't heard much of their stuff either....I think I'll give some tracks a try. If I recall correctly, wasn't Robert Smith (lead singer from The Cure), a member of this band back in the day...ended up leaving due to creative differences...which I'm thankful for...The Cure is one of my favorite bands.

siouxsie is awesome.
i would suggest picking up the amazing album known as "Juju" first. it's one of my favorite albums ever.
or you can just pick up her greatest hits, titled "Once Upon a Time: The Singles". volume two is called "Twice Upon a Time". both are great.

Siouxsie and the Banshees have a lot of strong material. They have quite a few greatest hits collections, called Once upon a time that has from 1978-82, and a second greatest hits called Twice upon a time with hits from 1983-95. They also have two current affordable collections in the 20th century masters millenium collection.
As for albums, 78's the Scream and 79's Join Hands are very punkish, but the three albums from 80-82 are my favorites, Kaleidoscope, Juju and a Kiss in the Dreamhouse they got more pop oriented and experiemental, stuff like Christine, Happy House, Arabian Knights, Slowdive. 84's Hyena and 86's Tinderbox are great as well. One of the songs called Cities in Dust(or was it Candyman?) was featured in the film Out of Bounds w/ Anothony Michael Hall, and featured a cameo of SATB playing in a club. There is also a really great live SATB album called Nocturne.
The Song Kiss them for was off 91's Superstition album, that album is more of a commercial/pop direction rather than the earlier punk/goth/post-punk sound of the early 80's. My best bet is to get a greatest hits and proceed from there. If you want more, there was a side project called the Creatures w/ Siouxsie and husband Budgie which is more experimental lind of percussion oriented music.
I like a lot of SATB's music, they did a good cover of the Beatles Dear Prudence in 83 you might have heard before. Hope that helps.

Okay, that is weird...I listened to that song in my car on Sunday! It's on my Mega 90's MP3 disc that I made not too long ago! Always loved this song...it was different! Best line :
"Nothing or no one, will ever make me let you down." It's just the way she sings it! Chilling!

I can’t say there is one particular album that really stands out.
My favorite songs by Siouxsie and the Banshees are: Cities in Dust, Dear Prudence, Christine, Peek-a-Boo, Happy House, Spellbound and ya… Kiss Them For Me is a really good one too.
I picked up the ‘Twice Upon a Time’ singles compilation only a week ago. And to my disappointment I didn’t really discover any other good songs. But that’s just a matter of personal taste of course.

I love them and like TKO I think peek-a-boo is a great song. They also have a song on the "Batman Returns" soundtrack, I think its called "Face to Face". "Kiss Them for Me" is one of their bigger hits and that too is a great song.
