I don't expect to get much response to this thread, but I had to share it with you.

Great guitarist, I spent almost a whole summer trying to learn this one on guitar, definetly his best.

First time I heard this was in 1992, when i bought the "GUITAR´S Practicing Musicians Vol. II" cd.
Love this song!

I know what you mean Riptide. It took me about 2 months to learn this song and play it well. Well worth the time, it is my favorite instrumental song of all-time and I do play it almost everyday.

I wasn't a total shred head, but a lot of my firends were, also the fact that I'm pretty much a lifetime subscriber to Guitar world made sure that some real technical tab got dumped in my lap. Am I the only one who thinks that Eric Johnson and Ellen Degeneres were seperated at birth or something? They look like brother and sister.

Haha. Now that I think about it, they do.

Just giving my man EJ a little bump. I was just talking about him today. I also want to plug his new DVD which just came out....pretty awesome!

I heard this song is really difficult for even the greatest guitar players to learn. Kudos to anyone who can do it.

Brutally difficult like you can't even imagine. I've been playing it forever now and can't even come close to playing it like Johnson....not bad though.
