80's rap was at least bearable for me. I quite enjoyed The Fat Boys:

hey 80srocked did you ever see disorderlies?

First off....Supersonic is a classic right up there with Run-DMC and Aerosmith's version of "Walk This Way". Thanks NowhereGirl that was fly.

I say let's go old school rap now with the Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, or even better how about a little Curtis Blow.

Yeah, B-girls you go. Old school/golden age hip hop is a lot of fun. Check this blast from the past.

I really loved those movies Beat Street/Wild Style/Style Wars/Breakin1-2.

I give shout outs to Treacherous 3(Kool Moe Dee's first group), Whodini, Run DMC, Mc Lyte, big Daddy Kane, EPMD, Eric b and Rakim, Kool G Rap, MC Shan, Masta Ace, and Run Dmc. I just saw Public Enemy last month as well as RZA/GZA.

Let me preface by saying Breakin' is my fav movie of the bunch Riptide, but for sheer talent that was put on the screen I have to go with "Beat Street". Doug E. Fresh, The System, Brenda K. Starr, Treacherous Three, and Sonic Force rocked the house.

Oh and I used to quite enjoy "The Haunted House of Rock" and "The Freaks Come Out at Night" by Whodini.

I love Beat Street, but to me Wild Style was the best, loved those graf writers like Zorro, loved the Cold Crush, Busy B, and the monster jam at the end of the movie.

Valley, are you familiar with a movie called Knights of the City?

Never heard anyone mention this one, although some of the scenes are unintentionally hilarious, the jail scene w/cameos by Fat Boys and Kurtis Blow has to be seen to believed. I like Krush Groove too, with some of the cameos.

wow Riptide, you might be challenging Cindy Mancini for testing my obscure movie knowledge. Luckily for you both I have spent most of my life watching movies that most people have never heard of or more likely care to remember. ha

The best part of this movie was The Fat Boys and Janine Turner who I saw years later on "Northern Exposure" and kept scanning my brain trying to remember where I had seen her before.

Good choices xchazx, it's almost painful to realise how much better and fun hip hop was back then compared to nowadays. It's really laughable, todays rappers couldn't hold a candle to what went on before. Other ones I used to love are Positive K, Steady B, Roxanne Shante, Stetsasonic, organized konfusion, and maybe my favorite hip hop group ever A Tribe called Quest. I like this guy too, he was down with EPMD and Redman. I like that aspect of humour that I don't hear anymore. http://youtube.com/watch?v=dDmVFvGvOeE&feature=related

i agree. i haven't listend to rap since like '90/'91 or so, with very few exceptions here and there(wu-tang/method man, gang starr/guru). rap is garbage now and has been for a long time. i really hate it. but i still love listening to "the old stuff", including west coast guys like nwa, the doc, and ice t. it's funny, but i'd rather listen to chuck d talk about black power/pride than some dopes talking about girls and rims.

and i used to watch yo! mtv raps every day at 4:30. dre and lover were pretty funny guys.
