Cindy just gave me 2 CDs of 80's songs- and some of the songs were ones I could never find...and this song was one of them, I love it, I have listened to it over and over since she left.
Does anyone else like it??
Wishing
It’s not the way you look, It’s not the way that you smile. Although there’s something to them. It’s not the way you have your hair, It’s not that certain style; It could be that with you.
If I had a photograph of you, It’s something to remind me. I wouldn’t spend my life just wishing.
It’s not the make-up And it’s not the way that you dance, It’s not the evening sky. It’s more the way your eyes Are laughing as they glance Across the great divide.
If I had a photograph of you, It’s something to remind me. I wouldn’t spend my life just wishing.
It’s not the things you say It’s not the things you do It must be something more And if I feel this way for so long Tell me is it all for nothing Just don’t walk out the door.
If I had a photograph of you, It’s something to remind me. I wouldn’t spend my life just wishing.

Thanks!! I can't believe nobody else mentioned if they liked it or not, I listen to it every day when I get a shower...I hit repeat, and this song plays over and over, and I just love it.

I didn't even know this was a Flock of Seagulls song until 2 weeks ago! I always liked this but never knew who it was! They had more hits than I thought !

Yeah...that's what I thought about Space Age Love Song....and I wouldn't have known this song was by them either, thanks again Cindy!!
All I ever knew was "I Ran".
I remember when that song came out...my Dad would say:
I Ran by a Flock of Seagulls and got sh-t on.
I would get so mad at him for making fun of that song, cause I loved that song then.

I love it, and I love the Seagulls!
In fact, last week I had "Space Age Love Song" as my profile song on Myspace.
.....All I need now is the haircut!

This is one of their greatest songs, even people who dislike the band I have come across claim this song as a guilty pleasure. Apparently the singe Mike Score was inspired to write the song based on a true incident where a girl he fancied refused to give him a picture. I guess we lucked out by her not giving in, because it's a great, dreamy song. The ending is amazing especially with the e-bow being used to maximum effect.

Thats a great song. ya know they had videos for Space Age Love Song, and Wishing, but all VH-1 ever played was I Ran. It makes me mad.

When I was growing up, all Muchmusic played was I Ran as well, like they couldn't see past that video, even though they had a bunch of others.

I saw the Space Age Love Song video on 120 Minutes a couple of months back on VH-1 Classics at like 3am. That's the first time I ever saw the video......

I have always felt that both Space Age Love Song and Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You) were just as good if not better than I Ran Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :
I LOVE this song! Thanks for bringing it back up again. I haven't listened to it in awhile.
Modern Love is another good one, from the Flock!

Worth mentioning on this thread - just to impress you all - but my friend who engineers our band at gigs and stuff was the resident sound engineer on their albums when they recorded, back in the day over in Germany........

That's so cool Paul. Tell me more about that, so I guess he worked with legendary produce Conny Plank who did the Kraftwerk and Ultravox! albums.
