An album by the name of "Clutching At Straws" was released by the band Marillion on June 19, 1987. Only two of their tracks mention the word: straw. That Time Of The Night (The Short Straw) and The Last Straw: Happy Ending.
Extensive serches through Muze, CDDB and AMG turned up zero results of ANY song called: "Clutching At Straws" being released in the 80's.
