My niece has suddenly become infatuated w/ the brat pack. Given that she wasn't born until 1990, she completely missed the 80's in all of their glory. I want to make her an 80's soundtrack cd using only songs from movie soundtracks.
Any suggestions?

MY WORD AM I THE OBSESSED PERSON FOR YOU!
Okay - as an obsessive 80's movie fan here is my definitive list(actually I am constantly adding to it but it is fairly comprehensive for now):
Nothing's Gonna Stop us Now - Starship (Mannequin Theme) Dancing in Heaven - Q-Feel (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun soundtrack) Maniac - Flashdance Soundtrack St Elmo's Fire - John Parr(St Elmo's Fire) Let the Rivers Run - Carly Simon (Working Girl) If You Leave - Orchestral Manouveres in the Dark (Pretty in Pink) Don't You Forget About Me - Simple Minds (The Breakfast Club) Pretty In Pink - The Psychadelic Furs (Pretty In Pink) Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want - The Smiths (Pretty In Pink) Glory of Love - ? (Karate Kid Soundtrack) Cry Little Sister- Gerard McMann - (Theme from the Lost Boys) Footloose - Kenny Loggins (Footloose)
But then don't forget all of those brilliant 80s songs that weren't movie themes such as: Jessie's Girl - Rick Springfield Jump - Van Halen Video Killed the Radio Star - The Buggles (has the distinction of being the first ever film clip played on Mtv) The Sun Always Shines on TV - A-Ha (My personal favourite) Take on Me - A-Ha Only You - Yazoo London Calling - The Clash All Fired Up - Pat Benetar Land of Make Believe - Buck's Fizz More than a feeling - Boston .....Not to mention all of the TV show themes There are a million more songs that I could include here but think that I have the majority of the 'brat pack' songs. Good luck and hope that she (and you) likes them!

Was it not the sequel "Three Men & A Little Lady" instead? I might be mistaken though.
As for 80's movie tracks, you will also need:
*Cyndi Lauper "Goonies R Good Enough" (Goonies) *Mental As Anything "Live It Up" (Crocodile Dundee) *Harold Faltermayer "Axel F" (Beverly Hills Cop) *Deniece Williams "Let's Hear It For The Boy" (Footloose) *Flirts "Jukebox" (Valley Girl) *Bobby McFerrin "Don't Worry Be Happy" (****tail) *Duran Duran "A View To A Kill" (A View To A Kill) *Iggy Pop "Real Wild Child" (Adventures In Babysitting)
There are plenty more but I'm having memory overload for the moment!

'Hazy Shade of Winter' (originally by Simon and Garfunkel but covered by the Bangles for the Less than Zero Soundtrack). 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' Cyndi Lauper, GJWHF soundtrack. '9 to 5' Dolly Parton from '9 to 5'. 'Against All Odds' Phil Collins - from the movie of the same name. 'Fame' Irene Cara again and theme from movie of same name. 'It's in the way that you use it', Eric Clapton - The Colour of Money. 'You Can Dance', Madonna - Desperately Seeking Susan. 'I've had the time of my life' Eric Warner(?) - Dirty Dancing. 'Ghostbusters', Ray Parker Jr - Ghostbusters. And I'm only up to G! I could go on for ever. Go to the Fast Rewind Home site, scroll through the movies that you remember and then go to the soundtrack section. I hope your niece loves all of that music as much as we all did.

I'm the kind of person who gets home from the shops and remembers what I've forgotten - I know unbelievable isn't it. Anyway, I will stop posting on this site now but I forgot to mention one of the all time brilliant movie themes - QUEEN'S 'Who wants to Live forever' and 'It's a kind of Magic'. Good luck.
