Sorry Sam, but if we're gonna talk 80's metal, then there are a few bands that I have to mention and I'm sure you'll allow me this small indulgence as I think you'll find we choose totally different bands.
Here's my band today...
This bay area thrash group may not be well known these days but let's not forget what they gave to the world...ROB FLYNN!!! (Machine Head founder for the uninitiated)

Let's not also forget, that aside from Robb Flynn, they also gave us the world's first vomit-pack single!!! Rememeber that? A 7" (or possibly 10") single inside a plastic bag full of fake puke - niiiiice!

Machine Head- excellent band.

I've seen Machine Head live twice in the past year. Once at Donington (where they went down a ****ing storm) and more recently at Southampton (where the pits were the craziest place on earth).
My 8 year old is a recent convert to Machine Head and is gutted that he didn't get to see them. Definitely next time though!

Sammy & Noms: I have no idea where you guys are coming up with these bands from...I never heard of any of them!

That's what I'm trying to do. Everybody has heard of Ratt, Poison and AC/DC; I'm trying to name bands that have slipped from your memories or to inform about ones I think should be in your memory.

Sorry guys...you'll never convert this alternative rock momma to the dark side of your musical coven...but I do enjoy your postings throughout this board.
