Okay I have to say that this particular song by Duran Duran always makes me think of Christmas 1984. I say this because there was a 14 year old girl that was killed in a car wreck in our town and she was friends with my mom's best friend's daughter. She was hanging out of the car and her head hit a tree and there was a white cross spray painted on the tree where the accident happened for years and years. Everytime we would drive by that spot I would look at the tree and think of Lori Wilderman. She was such a pretty girl. That is my first experience with someone young dying. I remember driving to KC for Christmas that year because it just happened a few days before Christmas and listening to my Duran Duran Reflex tape. That song was always so somber and I guess that was the mood that I felt at the time that every single time I hear it it takes me back to that time. It was the first song that I heard when I turned on the TV this morning.
Also songs of note that are important for today include "The Greatest Love of All", "Living on a Prayer", and "Mandolin Rain". I really really wish that we were able to go back in time and live in a time when we were oblivious to the things that are going on around us now. I know not possible...but it is always good to dream.....

Devolution here,
I love that song. The beginning sounds like David Bowie actually. A great song. A great album.

It was this song and 7th Stranger that were my favorites on the Seven and the Ragged Tiger album. Funny, the band really hated the New Moon itself, but the song is great.

I can remember I had a lend of that album Seven and the Ragged Tiger from a woman that I used to know. I listened to all the songs from The Reflex to 7th Stranger. How many of you know that the album was mixed in Sydney right here in Australia and that the album's front photograph cover was taken on the front steps of the New South Wales State Library?
