I was just a little curious about different radio stations and what type of '80s radio shows are in your hometown if you have any at all. Here in Atlanta we used to have some of the coolest radio stations that would play some great '80s music but......The Sad part is that they have all gone the only radio station i know of in Atlanta that plays '80s music is 99X (99.7FM) The House Of RETO-Pleasure Mon-Fri 12:00-1:00pm (just 1 hour) and most of that is commericals. We used to have an all 80's station called The Max 105.7fm that only lasted about a year now it's an all TALK station (That Sucks!) And then we had my favorite program Friday Night'80s on Star94 (94.1fm) every friday at 5:00pm-3:00am 10 hours of '80s on Friday Night i loved it but that too has been cancelled What the hell is going on . Then there was another program The '80s at 8 mon-fri 8:00am-900am on B98.5fm this too is no more. Where have all the 80's radio stations gone? i don't even listen to the radio much any more. So i like to know what are some of radio station in your town and do you have any radio stations that has some '80s programs or do you have an all '80s station that plays all '80s all the time i like to know i think it is an conspiracy to stop '80s music in Atlanta

I just finished our two-hour '80s show here at Hot 93.7 FM, Stillwater, Oklahoma.
"The Fab Four Flashback Cafe" is from 11 to 1.
I get to sit every Friday and listen to song after song as my friend Gil is out broadcasting live at the local hamburger joint.
Today, the playlist looked like this:
The Eurythmics - Would I Lie To You? Fine Young Cannibals - Good Thing R.E.M. - The One I Love The Clash - Should I Stay Or Should I Go? The B-52s - Roam Scandal - Goodbye to You Information Society - What's On Your Mind? After The Fire - Der Kommisar Hooters - And We Danced ABC - Be Near Me Depeche Mode - People Are People Escape Club - Wild Wild West Midnight Oil - Beds Are Burning Modern English - I Melt With You Howard Johnson - Things Are Only Getting Better Naked Eyes - Always Something There To Remind Me The Talking Heads - Burning Down The House Prince - Kiss INXS - New Sensation The Cure - Friday I'm In Love The Pretenders - Brass In Pocket

I listen to 2 stations here in Dallas...KVIL & JACK 103. They both have a mix of '70s/'80s/'90s. KVIL used to play all '80s on saturdays, but now they're doing '70s. I go back and forth between them hunting '70s & '80s tunes and when one isn't playing them I hit the CD button and SHAZAM...instant '80s!!!!!! I wish I had XM radio so I could have an all '80s station all the time.

So Let me take a guess TheHornedKing you are a Professional Radio Personality? That is THE COOLEST DUDE! or as Jeff Spicoil would say "AWESOME....TOTALLY AWESOME" and the fact you get to play music that you REALLY LOVE ('80s music) is just soooo damn COOL! I know i can't hear your show cause i'm in Georgia but dude can i make a request? How's about INXS "Kiss The Ground"(Falling Down The Mountain) Thanks DUDE
WZZZZ-UP Bionic Bigfoot sounds like a pretty cool radio station you guys have there in Ol' Dally(No Offence i got that from J.R. Ewing in Dallas)My ex-girlfriend now lives in Austin TX. Anyways I wish we had a station that plays rock/pop from the '70s '80s & '90s but like you said hit the CD button and instant '80s but is'nt that XM radio '80s station THE BEST!!!!! I have to get that XM Radio. KEEP IT ROCKING DUDES!

They just started a new station in my area (Milwaukee,WI) called The Brew 97.3. It plays some 70's and 80's rock like Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Poison, etc. It's all I listen to in my car. I only switch stations when they might play song that I don't like.

I'll bet The Brew is similar to BOB FM, an OK City station I like.
They play the best rock from the 70s & 80s.
It caters to men, with sexy female DJs on air most of the day.

What I like is Saturday night 80's, I think it is on 95.1. They also have a retro hour from 8 to 9 on KSYN 92.5. I love that one too.
I wish that there was a channel dedicated to it all of the time. Maybe with 70's and 80s like they do with the 50's and 60's, oh well maybe in another ten years we will get our own dedicated channel!!

WMGH-FM 105.5 in Lansford 5 miles to the east of town is apredominantly 80s station; indeed one of my closest friends laments that's ALL they play. Until recently they had a 3 hour 80s block on Thursday nights; now they've readjusted it to an hour at 8 o'clock (80s at 8).

I don't think any of the radio stations around here play 80's much. Maybe like they have an 80's hour or something. I really don't listen to the local stations that much, because I have xm satellite radio. They have an 80's station that plays all 80's all the time. It's cool.

KX96 plays all forms of classic rock, and a spritz of popular new rock. You can hear Journey's Don't Stop Believin' at least once a day, no matter when you tune in. They seem to stick mostly to arena rock, but they also have the requisite Zeppelin, Rush, and other sweet bands.
Of course, they also play U2, which makes me want to burn Ireland to the ground.

Our local radio station has just realised that there is an enormous demographic out there who aren't interested in re-hashed riffs by mediocre artists so they play heaps of brilliant 70s and 80s songs all day. They are 104.5 TripleM and if you are ever in Brisbane Australia then you need to keep your dial tuned to them!
