Hi guys, its been a while since I posted here, but I've just stumbled upon something (courtesy of Slashfilm.com) which is too good not to share
John G Avildsen has a YouTube channel, and he has uploaded the raw rehearsal footage from the filming of the original Karate Kid. Its a fascinating watch, as you can see some deleted scenes and scenes/dialogue that were altered. Check them out - PS, are my old friends still here? "Ali with an I", "McFly"???
I actually watched some of this awhile back and it was entertaining at first .. but after awhile it just made me want to break out my blu-ray and watch the movie instead.
Did you watch it all? Were there any cool behind the scenes moments? What I watched was mainly just rehearsal of the movie .. which I definitely wasn't aware they even rehearsed with that much detail for the movie.

Very cool Helen! I love that kind of 'behind the scenes' stuff. I saw something similar on the DVD extras I believe, but this was a much longer cut.

This is great. I watched the videos and besides being a !great treasure! to all the fans it is also a great lesson in the art of filmmaking and how to achieve fantastic results. The movie is very rich in landscapes, with fantastic camera work, vibrant colors and compositions! Great team work!

I discovered this rehearsal video as it was mentioned in Ralph macchios book Waxing On. I agree with those on here who call it a great find. Im gonna do a second viewing some time.
Others vying for the part of the karate kid were C Thomas Howell, Robert Downey jr and Charlie Sheen who macchio had seen around one day and was worried he may be competition for KK.
