The ironic outcome of the movie is that Bily Zabka became the real karate kid. Prior to making the movie, Zabka was a star high school wrestler with minimal karate training. After the movie, Zabka went on to become a third degree blackbelt. If you want to see how great of a fighter he became, check him out in the movie Shoot Fighter. He is amazing.
