John Cusack has had quite the career, so let's honor his run where it all began....the 80's. So everyone pick your TWO Cusack favs from the 80's.
Choices:
Class (1983) Sixteen Candles (1984) Grandview, USA (1984) The Sure Thing (1985) Better Off Dead (1985) The Journey of Natty Gann (1985) Stand By Me (1986) One Crazy Summer (1986) Hot Pursuit (1987) Broadcast News (1987) Eight Men Out (1988) Tapeheads (1988) Elvis Stories (1989) Say Anything (1989) Fat Man and the Little Boy (1989)
We did this once before.. but with all the new Rewinders I thought it would be interesting to do it again.

logan5 .. nice analysis .. but you are offically disqualified! Though Meredith Salenger says thanks for "The Journey of Natty Gann" almost vote despite the heartburn you inflicted for bumping Secret Admirer's "Dance A Little Pain" comment.
80'sRocked .. how did two become three? .. 220, 221..whatever it takes?

joking aside.. if I was strictly just picking my favorite movie from the list it would undoubtly be "Sixteen Candles", but since John Cusack spent most of the movie riding around in a trunk of a car .. that won't work.
So..
I would choose "Say Anything" as my favorite Cusack performance followed by the 'TKO stole my thunder' pick of "Class".
With that said.. it appears "Better Off Dead" is showing up the most to this point.

Ummmmm....looks like I'd better find and watch "Better Off Dead" (I've never seen this one). That being sai, I'd certainly have to go with Say Anything and The Sure Thing...

I place 'Better off Dead' at # 2 on the list of 'Most well liked 80's movies [now] people hadn't seen prior to the internet'. 'Valley Girl' is # 1.

Tapeheads was great-working on 'spec' and the cemetery video. Liked his role in Stand By Me too.

I just watched The Sure Thing........it doesn't rank up on the top of Cusacks movies for me....but it's such a good movie. I actually only saw it in the last 10 years...not in the 80's.
So cute when Allison finally realizes she likes Gib and her wall breaks down....they are lying in bed and she wakes to find he's craddling her.....Gib jumps up "I didn't try anything....i'll just go on the veranda for a minute" and waves through the window.......love it!

Well my FAVORITES would be 16 CANDLES and STAND BY ME- but that has not much to do with him because he has very small roles in those.
When Im in the mood to "Watch John Cusack movies" I wacth BETTER OFF DEAD and THE SURE THING.
