Just finished watching this cherished 80's flick. If you have never seen it, I highly recommend it for some 80's fun. I watch it every Halloween .. kind of a tradition since I was younger. It isn't necessarily all that scary, but still a great movie for the haunting season..
"The Midnight Hour" is actually a hidden gem of an 80's flick. I enjoy it because of Jonna Lee who I loved in "Making the Grade". She is beyond good in it and she really plays such a likeable character.
There is one wacky dance scene at the party that is what I like to call The Midnight Hour's "Thriller Moment"... but even that works because Shari Belafonte kills it.
Also, "The Midnight Hour" unleashes The Smiths "How Soon Is Now" long before flicks like "The Craft" or the tv series "Charmed"!
Crave the nightlife?

I saw this movie when it first aired on television when I was in gradeschool. I have it on VHS that I got in a box set of other movies in 2000 as a christmas present.

This is a great movie.. but it was made for tv.. so basically no gore to speak about in it. If you enjoy tv movies such as "Dance 'Til Dawn" .. then I recommend it. It is one of those movies that if you saw it as a teenager.. you grow up searching for it.
It is out-of-print .. but I got a great copy of it recently.. how much have you found it available for?

This is a great movie! I agree with you Valley, Jonna Lee's character is likeable, but don't you think it's kinda gross to be kissing her when she's technically a zombie? I don't know, I'd be all messed up in the head because she is so dang cute, but she's dead!
I love Peter DeLuise and Dedee Pfeiffer too, so this movie is jam packed with 80s class.

So awesome!! It is definitely on my Halloween watch list every year. It is such a sought after flick by so many that saw it on tv in the 80's.
And Secret Admirer.. I see your point about Zombie Lee, but I might break my 'no zombie makeout' rule for her!

Hey McFly.. "The Midnight Hour" is a great movie, but not really very scary.
Also, Veronica .. are you waiting for Halloween or something?

Veronica.. hopefully I warned you .. "The Midnight Hour' isn't really that scary.. more fun than anything.
And of course .. I think you'll trip out a bit when "How Soon Is Now?" by The Smiths starts playing.
My only advice is for Muffy and Ronnie to stay away from Jonna Lee please.

"The Midnight Hour" has become an October viewing tradition for me. It is one of those movie that people saw as kids, but can't remember the name of it. Overall, just a wicked treat of a movie!
I'm glad it is finally accessible to more folks.. it was one of those lost movies that had crazy prices attached to obtain a copy. That has finally changed it seems. I'd still like to see an official DVD release someday.
ha.. my 'no zombie makeout rule' .. that comment above cracked me up.
