Savannah Smiles Filming Locations:
Liberty Park in Salt Lake City was where the "kidnapping" took place.
The Place where the two "kidnappers" are having their ice cream cones and find out Savannah is hiding in their car was filmed on McClelland street in Salt Lake City. In front of my former neighbor's house at 1021 McClelland St, Salt Lake City, UT 84105 [Thanks to Victor Camacho]
The church , where the getaway car is exchanged is the cathedral church of st . Mark E 100 South and some outdoor scenes were at Silver Lake in Big cottomwood canyon near Brighton. [Thanks to Charly (Germany)]
The bar was "The Cotton Bottom", located in Holladay just off of 6200 S and 2300 E. The fence that they drive through is also on that same street. [Thanks to Marissa Rasmussen]
I believe the property at 6200 South and Holladay Blvd. (Northwest Corner) was the "hideout" filming location and surrounding area can be seen in chase scene. [Thanks to John Manson]
A lot of the outdoor filming was done in the mountains of Utah, near Sundance.
The tram used in the film was located at Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon.
Most of the property in the Sundance area is owned by Robert Redford, and was also the location "Jeremiah Johnson". [Thanks to L Bingham]
Peter Graves office was in the Metropolitan Hall of Justice. That building that housed both the Salt Lake City Police and the Salt Lake County Sheriffs Office was demolished in 2000 and a new City Library stands in that place. The address was approximately 250 East on 500 South.
Some Canyon scenes were filmed in Mill Creek Canyon near Salt Lake City. This canyon has cabins, a boy scout camp and has controlled access. There is a small charge to get up the canyon, but it has not been developed like many of the other canyons near the city. The mouth of Mill Creek Canyon is at approximately 3000 South and 3200 East. The Bluebird and Grantsville Drug Store were used in several scenes. Westside Auto Wrecking and McBride's Auto Wrecking are used to hide the getaway clunker car. The Wagon Wheel was used in the bar scene. All are located on Main Street in Grantsville, Utah except McBride's which is on So. Center in Grantsville. I was an extra in several scenes.
