Just watched Firstborn aka Moving In (1984)
This movie is a classic! Very powerful and touching drama/thriller directed by Michael Apted. Leading actors Christopher Collet and Peter Weller are simply awesome. Teri Garr, Corey Haim and Sarah Jessica Parker are also great and even Robert Downey Jr has a role in this one.
This movie is still not avalable on dvd. I hope it´s not because that MPAA thinks that this is too "real" like someone says on IMDB. The reason could also be the soundtrack. There´s lots of good music in the movie from artists like Talk Talk, The Nobodys, Helix, Wang Chung etc.
Grab this one if you find it somewhere.

Never heard of that one. Looks like the kid from The Manhatten Project, which I love.

I remember reading in a magazine that Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey Jr walked out with each other for seven years as a result of being cast in this film.

This movie looks great. Too bad it is not on dvd or I would order it through Netflix. We have no video rental places around us anymore. If I ever see it at a thrift store on vhs, I'll pick it up.

I have it on VHS. A great film that sadly should be available to a much wider audience. A powerful movie never the less.

This movie was actually filmed near my middle school. The school office is used in one scene as well. I stop and watch anytime I see it on t.v.

Chicago was a real good hotbed of classic 80's films being filmed there. You were lucky to be around that.
Funny that Chris Collet didn't become a bigger star after that performance.
